We were asked to renovate a middle floor duplex apartment. It was in a house that was split some thirty years ago had not been touched since. Our brief was to modernise the apartment to a high standard. All rooms were stripped and re-plastered, and new electrics and a sound system were installed to all rooms. The existing sash windows where refurbished so that they were fully working, and we sourced new brass fittings that matched the originals. The house bathroom was completely remodelled. We removed of three walls in order to maximise the space, installed under floor heating, and designed a lighting system that created an opulent atmosphere. A new kitchen was designed and built, and central heating was fitted through the apartment.
As well as installing an electrical under floor heating system on the lower level, it was important to the client that the flooring was completely flush. That meant we had to alter the height of the hallway floor by adjusting the feathering timbers. Bespoke furniture was designed and built for the television and entertainment equipment, and handmade stone fire surrounds were fitted. In addition, we installed new French doors and a bespoke steel balcony to the rear elevation, and renovated the staircase, including reinstating the spindles.
